Calling all witnesses

Calling all witnesses

Integra Intelligence's witness identification process proves more effective than national ad campaign Dave's firm was spending too much time and money finding witnesses to support his consumer class action lawsuits. The firm relied on costly TV advertisements urging viewers to call a third-party call center that vetted the witnesses. Integra Intelligence saw an opportunity for Dave to connect with higher quality witnesses in less time. In our first week on the case, we identified prospective witnesses through our specialized databases and data mining techniques. We worked with Dave to create an investigative brief and crafted a question template designed to tease out the colorful details he needed to support his complaint in court. Our investigators began reaching out to potential witnesses and producing reports detailing each interview. One month later, Dave had statements from more than a dozen witnesses. "I never understood the value of hiring someone to ask questions," Dave said. "The results here convinced me.”

Integra Intelligence locates new class action witnesses under severe time constraints North Carolina attorney Bruce contacted Integra late one Friday afternoon. He had a hearing Monday, and a key witness for his consumer class action case had gone silent. First, Integra found the witness, who recanted several key statements attributed to him in the client's complaint. Integra updated BJ immediately and suggested a solution: find other witnesses before the hearing Monday. With just two days before a pivotal hearing, BJ agreed to let Integra spend the weekend locating and interviewing new witnesses. By Sunday evening, BJ breathed a sigh of relief as two memos arrived in his inbox. The witness interviews were rich in detail and supported key allegations from the complaint. Integra's investigators had also obtained addresses from the witnesses, who had agreed to sign declarations affirming their statements for the court.

Integra Intelligence asset search identifies bank accounts that enabled a local business owner to recover nearly $500K After prevailing in court against a former business partner, Shannon was ready to put the whole ordeal behind her. “I asked my attorney, what next? How do I collect?” Shannon said. She had it on paper that she was owed nearly half a million dollars, after all, and interest was rapidly accruing on the legal fees she charged to her credit card along the way. Shannon’s attorney told her she needed to locate the defendant and his assets. After two investigators were unable to locate the debtor, she contacted Integra. We suggested a comprehensive financial account search, performed ethically and in full accordance with all regulations. One week later, we presented Shannon with a detailed report showing seven bank accounts with balances as high as $40K, as well as two brokerage accounts.

Integra Intelligence helps spirits manufacturer define market niche While gathering competitive intelligence on the tequila industry, Integra Intelligence came across an opportunity that allowed our client, entrepreneur JP, to identify a lucrative niche long overlooked by the industry. JP came to Integra seeking market research as he positioned his nascent tequila label. It quickly became apparent that the market was saturated and competition steep. JP didn’t have the deep pockets necessary to achieve the economies of scale his rivals could. Integra’s SWOT analysis identified value in JP’s background and cultural heritage that he had overlooked. Rather than start another cookie-cutter tequila label, JP could craft a truly artisanal agave beverage. JP harnessed key advantages in intellectual property and access to create something new and memorable for the ultra-premium beverage market.

Integra Intelligence requests records that show police misconduct On a sunny afternoon in May 2018, a client called, badly shaken, after receiving a visit from two Seattle Police Department officers. The pair informed her that a former roommate had struck a pedestrian. The woman was gravely wounded, the officer said. The story seemed off, and Integra immediately began scouring the emergency response incident logs, attempting to figure out what had happened. We spoke with the man. He recalled getting in a minor fender bender and provided a detailed account. Using that information, Integra filed several public record requests to validate his story. From the beginning, we hypothesized that the police were lying about the incident. Sadly, the man committed suicide before Integra received the records that proved the police officer was lying. The evidence included body camera footage showing the officer laughing about the ruse and the shock on the roommate's face as she learned the news. Our quick action to secure the records before the agency had reason to drag their feet enabled the client to file one of the few substantiated Office of Police Accountability complaints that year. The complaint resulted in a policy change and increased public awareness of a problematic policing tactic. Most importantly, it helped the man's loved ones understand what had happened and who was to blame.
